Sanrio’s massive popularity has allowed them to work with various world-renowned brands to design unique products featuring Sanrio characters. These include fashion brands like Crocs and toy makers like Funko Inc. and Mattel. Of course, Sanrio has also collaborated with Japanese brands such as Nintendo and several different anime franchises.

Sanrio Anime Collaborations
Sanrio has collaborated with many popular anime franchises, bringing cute Sanrio characters to different anime worlds. One of the most popular anime that has met Sanrio characters is Naruto.
Naruto and Sanrio have worked together to bring different kinds of Naruto and Sanrio-themed merch. For toys and collectibles, Funko Pop has released models with Sanrio characters dressed up as Naruto characters.
There are currently five Funko Pop toys available: Hello Kitty dressed up as Naruto, My Melody dressed up as Sakura, Pochacco dressed as Kakashi, Chococat dressed as Sasuke, and Badtz-Maru as Itachi.
Kidrobot has also produced Naruto Shippuden and Sanrio-inspired products. These include plush, vinyl figures, and Enamel pins. Compared to the Funko pop models, there are more characters to choose from. Some additional characters include Phunny as Jiraiya, Kuromi as Gaara, Pompompurin as Rock Lee, and many more.

Lastly, there are also apparel and general goods available. For the Naruto anime’s 20th anniversary in 2022, special Naruto and Sanrio goods were released. Some examples of items include shirts, lunch totes, sweat towels, acrylic charms, and many more.
Naruto isn’t the only popular anime universe that Sanrio characters have visited. Sanrio has also collaborated with the highly popular Jujutsu Kaisen franchise to celebrate the release of the anime film Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
Special Jujutsu Kaisen and Sanrio collaboration goods were sold at Japanese theaters, including clips, badges, clear files, towels, and many more. In addition to general goods, special plushies were also released.

These plushies feature unique designs with Sanrio characters wearing Jujutsu Kaisen costumes and Jujutsu Kaisen characters wearing Sanrio-themed items. Some examples include Pochacco dressed up as Yuji Itadori, My Melody as Nobara Kugisaki, Bad Badtz-Maru as Megumi Fushiguro, Cinnamoroll as Satoru Gojo, and Pompopurin as Kento Nanami.
There are also plushies of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 characters wearing Sanrio-themed accessories. These include Yuta Okkotsu, Satoru Gojo, and Maki Zenin.

Jujutsu Kaisen and Sanrio special collaboration items are very hard to find since they are Japan-exclusive items. Thankfully, they can be bought from various Japanese online stores and second-hand goods websites using Zenmarket.

Hotwheels and Sanrio Collaboration
In addition to anime, Sanrio has also collaborated with popular toy maker Mattel to reimagine Sanrio characters as Hot Wheels cars. The collaboration first started in 2021 with three models: Hello Kitty, Keroppi, and Gudetama.
In 2022, Mattel expanded the lineup by introducing My Melody and Cinnamoroll-inspired Hot Wheels cards. A 5-car collector set was also introduced, featuring all five available Sanrio Hot Wheels models. With the creative designs of these cars, these Sanrio-inspired Hot Wheels toys are perfect for your Sanrio-themed collection.
Tamagotchi and Sanrio Collaboration
Tamagotchi is one of the cutest toys from Japan. They are small handheld egg-shaped game consoles that allow you to carry a virtual pet. You can do various activities with your Tamagotchi pet, including feeding and cleaning them, playing games, and visiting locations.
If that wasn’t cute enough, Tamagotchi has brought Sanrio characters into their handheld game console! Sanrio characters can be found through the limited edition Sanrio versions of the Tamagotchi Sanrio Meets DX, Sanrio M!X, and Sanrio Tamagotchi Smart.

These Tamagotchi devices allow you to visit Sanrio-themed locations, play games, and interact with the eleven included Sanrio characters. These Sanrio characters include Hello Kitty, Pompompurin, My Melody, Gudetama, Cinnamoroll, Kiki and Lala (Little Twin Stars), Kuromi, Kuroppi, Tuxedo Sam, and Badtz-Maru.
The Tama Smart takes things further by giving the Sanrio Tamagotchi experience in a smartwatch form. With the Tama Smart and its Sanrio TamaSma Card add-on, users can download additional Sanrio-inspired costumes, the Kitty Coordination game, watch faces, wallpapers, and other bonus content.

Nintendo and Sanrio Collaboration
Sanrio characters have also made many appearances in the world of video games. In the past, Sanrio has collaborated with Nintendo to bring special limited edition Sanrio-themed versions of Nintendo’s popular portable game consoles.
These include the Hello Kitty Gameboy Pocket, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, and New Nintendo 3DS (Sanrio-themed 3DS Faceplates). Most recently, Sanrio characters appeared in Nintendo’s highly popular Animal Crossing New Horizon via Amiibo cards.
In 2021, Nintendo released the Animal Crossing Sanrio collaboration pack featuring six amiibo cards. Each included amiibo card gives you costumes and items based on Hello Kitty, Pompompurin, Kiki and Lala (Little Twin Stars), Cinnamoroll, My Melody, and Keroppi.

Hello Kitty and Friends Monopoly
If you’re a fan of board games, then you’ll love the Hello Kitty and Friends version of Monopoly. This custom version of Monopoly features the same rules as the standard version of Monopoly. However, several elements of the game, such as the properties and title deed cards, are replaced with Sanrio-inspired locations.
Even the game’s currency is based on Sanrio characters. In addition, this version comes with seven collectible tokens based on Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, Keroppi, Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll, and Badtz-Maru.
The Hello Kitty and Friends version of Monopoly is a visually pleasing game that will surely appeal to fans of the game. And since it is easy to pick up and learn, this game should also suit Sanrio fans who want to try Monopoly for the first time.

Sanrio and Crocs Collaboration
In addition to toys, plushies, and video games, Sanrio has also collaborated with Crocs for special Sanrio-themed clogs. The Hello Kitty and Friends and Crocs collaboration features a pink colorway decked out with Sanrio characters-inspired art.
This pair includes Jibbitz charms allowing you to customize how they look. The included charms Jibbitz are Hello Kitty, My Melody, Badtz-maru, Kuromi, Chococat, Keropi, and Pompompurin.
