However, due to circumstances beyond our control, we have made the difficult decision to adjust our service fee on Mercari Shops and JDirectItems Auction.
What is changing?
Starting May 1, 2026, the ZenMarket service fee for bids placed on JDirectItems Auction will increase from 500 yen to 800 yen per bid.
The service fee for purchases made through Mercari Shops will increase from 500 yen to 800 yen per purchase starting April 1, 2026.
We understand that this may not be good news for everyone, and we want you to know that this decision was not made lightly. Our goal remains the same as always: to provide a reliable, efficient, and high-quality service, always with our users’ best interests in mind.
That said, we would also like to remind you that:
- The service fee for our recommended stores remains 300 yen per purchase.
- The service fee for all other stores will continue to be 500 yen.
- This means that the service fee for JDirectItems Shopping will remain 500 yen.
We would also like to remind you that Rakuma is available among the Japanese stores integrated into our website. Rakuma is a Japanese platform that brings together individual sellers, where you can find secondhand items in excellent condition at great prices, and it also offers a free authentication service. In addition, from March 20 to March 23, Rakuma will be running a special promotion that allows you to receive a 15% ZenPoints cashback, up to a maximum of 50,000 ZenPoints per purchase.
Lastly, we prepared a very special JDirectItems Auction campaign running from March 27 to March 31 designed to help reduce the impact of this service fee change.
