This delivery service will be especially useful for customers shipping electronic devices with built-in batteries — like Nintendo DS consoles, cameras, or other gadgets — since there’s no need to remove the batteries before shipping.

Sagawa Express is scheduled to become available for selection from Monday, June 2, with the first parcels expected to ship out on Thursday, June 5.

Key Features

Weight limit: Up to 65 kg per parcel.

Size limit: The sum of the longest side and waist circumference must be within 400 cm. This is calculated by adding the length of the longest side to twice the sum of the other two dimensions (the width and height).
Example:
Let’s say your package has the following dimensions: length (the longest side) - 150cm, width - 65cm, height - 60cm. The calculation would be: 150 + 2 × (65 + 60) = 150 + 2 × 125 = 150 + 250 = 400 cm. In this case, the parcel just meets the maximum size limit.
Prohibited Items
Sagawa Express follows the same prohibited item rules as UPS. Lithium and nickel-nickel batteries are allowed with no limit, as long as they are built into the device.

Fee Structure
Shipping cost is calculated based on the greater of actual weight or volumetric weight.
Volumetric weight formula: (Length × Width × Height) ÷ 5000
Large package fee: An additional 7,910 yen (taxable) will apply if the total length and girth of your parcel exceed 300 cm.
Pickup & Frequency
We’re currently finalizing the pickup schedule. Initially, Sagawa is expected to pick up parcels twice per week, with increased frequency possible depending on shipment volume.
