Final Audio Anime Collaboration Earphones

Final Audio is a well-respected Japanese audio brand known for making high-quality earphones at all price points. They make great-sounding budget wired and wireless earphones for regular consumers and top-of-the-line headphones for professionals and audiophiles.

Recently, Final Audio started making anime-themed true wireless earphones, such as their Neon Genesis Evangelion, Dragonball Z, and Ultraseven Ultraman collaboration models. Final Audio’s anime earphones are unique because they aren’t just rebadged Final Audio earphones.

Each anime collaboration earphone has been designed from the ground up to offer an experience that best reflects the anime they are based on. These are some of the most original-looking true wireless earphones today and arguably the best sounding in their class. Below are more details on each Final Audio anime collaboration model.

Final Audio x Neon Genesis Evangelion True (EVA2020)

Final Audio's collaboration with the Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise aims to create unique-looking earbuds that fully immerse and bring fans to the world of Evangelion. Each model has an Evangelion-themed charging case and earbud design with a color scheme corresponding to the EVA units and characters from the series.

There are currently five EVA2020 variants. The first three models are Shinji Ikari's EVA Unit-01 (purple and green), Asuka Langley's EVA Unit-02 (red), and Kaworu Nagisa's Eva Mark.06 (Evangelion Rebuild Series).

Final Audio later released additional models, such as the Type-REI model based on Rei Ayanami's color scheme (white plugsuit and blue hair) and the Type-NERV model based on the NERV organization's black and red color scheme.

In addition to the gorgeous Evangelion-inspired design of the earphones, each model also has special voice guidance for using the device. NERV HQ computer technician Maya Ibuki (voiced by Miki Nagasawa) provides specially recorded voice lines such as "Entry System Start" and "Entry System Over" when turning on and off the device for the first three EVA models.

For the Type-REI model, Rei Ayanami (voiced by Megumi Hayashibara) provides the voice lines. Lastly, for the Type-NERV model, the voice lines are provided by Misato Katsuragi, voiced by Kotono Mitsuishi.

 

 

The language of the Evangelion earphones can be switched from Japanese to English to make the experience more seamless for both Japanese and international fans. For the Type-REI model, two patterns of Japanese announcements are available.

And lastly, the EVA2020 earphones feature special Evangelion-inspired packaging color matched with their respective EVA units. The waveform serves as the box art, making the user feel as if they are synchronizing with their respective EVA unit, making the experience even more immersive.

Final Audio x Dragonball Z True 

Final Audio has also released Dragonball Z-inspired wireless earphones featuring Goku and Vegeta models. Final Audio meticulously designed these earphones to recreate the Dragonball Z Universe.

The charging case of both earphones is based on the "Attack Ball" Saiyan Pods. For Goku's model, the color scheme of the earbuds is based on his uniform and belt. Vegeta's model is based on his battle uniform.

The packaging of these earphones is also very special. Combining the boxes of both models recreates the scene when Goku and Vegeta fought for the very first time.

And, of course, just like the EVA2020 models, there is a special audio guide with original dialogue recorded by the original voice actors of Goku and Vegeta. The Son Goku model features the voice of voice actor Masako Nozawa. Likewise, the Vegeta model features the voice of Ryo Horikawa.

In terms of features and sound quality, the Dragon Ball Z earphones have a number of differences compared to the EVA2020 earphones. The earbuds' battery capacity and charging cases have been reduced to accommodate their smaller form factor.

The Dragonball Z earphones also have a specialized tuning optimized for watching videos. Emphasis on fine details and textures allows the user to have better immersion, especially when watching scenes from the Dragonball Z series, such as Goku and Vegeta's first battle.

AG Frieza Cotsubu True 

In addition to the Goku and Vegeta models, Final Audio released a third Dragonball Z-inspired true wireless earphone under AG, another earphone brand owned by Final Audio's parent company, SNEXT. AG's special Dragonball Z-inspired earphone is based on Frieza, one of the franchise's most popular villains.

The charging case and earbuds adopt the purple and white color scheme of Frieza's fourth form. The voice guidance of the Frieza model features the voice of Frieza's voice actor, Ryuusei Nakao.

Unlike most of Final Audio's collaboration wireless earphones, the AG Frieza earphones are based on AG's Cotsubu wireless earphones. However, Final Audio supervised the sound tuning for this model.

Similar to the Final Audio Dragonball Z models, the AG Frieza earphones are optimized for watching videos. The intricacies of the texture and quality of vocal performances help create a more immersive and impactful experience.

AG held a lottery for an extremely rare Golden Frieza version of these earphones during its release. The AG Cotsubu Golden Frieza earphones could only be acquired through the raffle and were not available for purchase.

Final Audio x Ultraseven True 

Final Audio also released wireless earphones based on the popular 1967 Tokusatsu TV Show Ultraseven. The ZE3000 Ultraguard Model is a high-performance wireless earphone based on Final Audio’s ZE3000 model.

The charging case and the earbuds of the Ultraseven earphones are based on the helmet and uniform worn by the Ultra Guard defense force from the series. The Ultraseven earphones feature voice lines recorded by Satomi Hayakawa, played by Kaoru Ugawa in the original Ultraseven series.

Onkyo Direct Anime Collaboration Earphones

Onkyo is a popular Japanese audio brand that has produced many anime collaboration earbud models. They have released official earphones for anime and films such as Psycho-Pass, Violet Evergarden, Bubble, Spy x Family, 86 Eighty Six, and many more.

The brand is also very reputable, especially since they have been in the industry since 1946. They currently release anime-themed earphones under the Onkyo and Pioneer branding.

Onkyo sells their special collaboration earphones and headphones exclusively through their Onkyo Direct online shop. Unlike the other earphones on this list, Onkyo's anime earphones are made-to-order products and are only available for a limited time during the pre-order period.

Essentially, Onkyo's anime earphones are limited edition models. Onkyo earphones are exclusively made for the Japanese market and are not sold through Japanese and international retailers.

Onkyo usually announces in advance which anime or Japanese artist they are collaborating with. Also, the base model used for each Onkyo anime earphone varies.

Some models used in past anime collaborations include the Onkyo H720C ANC headphones (Bubble headphones), and Anima AOW01 BTR (Tiger & Bunny and Bocchi the Rock! earphones), made in collaboration with Anima Audio.

Recently they also released a collaboration with Tokyo Revengers, with each set featuring one of the characters in the anime/manga series. In total, there are 9 versions and all are limited editions with bonus gifts. 

In addition to wireless earphones, Onkyo also sells accessories that match the earphones' theme. Onkyo anime earphones can typically be bought with an additional matching wireless charging pad, acrylic stand, A4 clear file, and can badge.

TOoKA Base Official Anime Collaboration Earphones

TOoKA Base is a new earphone and lifestyle brand owned by Universal Music Japan. The brand has gained attention in Japan thanks to their anime collaboration wireless earphones. So far, TOoKA Base has released officially licensed earphones for popular anime, such as Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia, the Quintessential Quintuplets, Ghost in the Shell, Yowamushi Pedal, Detective Conan, and many more.

Compared to Onkyo collaboration models, TOoKA Base’s anime earphones are more widely available. New models can be found on Universal Music Japan’s online store and HMV Japan' online store - if buying from here, simply find the link for the earphones you want and paste it into the ZenMarket search box. They are also available on Amazon Japan and Rakuten. Since TOoKA Base anime earphones are only sold to the Japanese market, they need to be bought using Zenmarket.

Unlike the other collaboration models on this list, TOoKA Base’s anime earphones are considerably more basic in terms of their features and sound quality. They don’t have any special sound tuning, advanced components, or active noise cancellation. However, they still cover essential features, such as Bluetooth 5.0 and IPX7 water resistance.

And, of course, TOoKA Base’s anime earphones are well-designed and will surely satisfy any anime fan. Most collaboration models include multiple characters. The Jujutsu Kaisen series for instance, features Gojo Satoru, Yuji Itadori, Nobara Kugisaki, and Megumi Fushiguro collaboration models, complete with their own unique designs, color schemes, and box art.

TOoKA Base’s anime earphones also feature voice guides recorded by the official voice actors of each anime. Overall, TOoKA Base anime earphones are great for casual music listeners who are big fans of these anime.
