The Legend of Zelda turns 40 this year, and Nintendo is pulling out all the stops with the highly anticipated 40th Anniversary Nintendo Switch 2 and a stunning remake of Ocarina of Time. But as is tradition with major Nintendo milestones, some of the absolute best commemorative merchandise is locked completely behind Japan’s borders.
If you are a die-hard collector watching from overseas, it can be frustrating to miss out on region-exclusive bonuses and limited-edition items you can't buy directly.
Fortunately, you don't need to hop on a plane to Japan to get your hands on them. Here is a breakdown of the best Japan-exclusive Zelda 40th Anniversary merch and how you can easily get them delivered to your door using ZenMarket.
1. Amazon Japan’s Exclusive Ocarina of Time Art Cards
The Ocarina of Time Switch 2 remake drops on November 5, 2026. While you could easily pre-order a physical copy from your local game store, you'd be missing out on some amazing bonuses.
If you pre-order your physical copy through Amazon Japan, there’s an Amazon Japan exclusive version that includes a set of commemorative art cards you won't find anywhere else.

2. Rakuten Books' Exclusive Ocarina of Time Wooden Diorama & Cleaning Cloth
If Amazon’s art cards aren’t your style, Rakuten Books is offering a premium physical bonus that is an absolute must-have for collectors.
By ordering the Ocarina of Time Switch 2 remake through Rakuten Books, you will receive a beautiful wooden diorama stand alongside a themed cleaning cloth. The wooden diorama is a perfect rustic display piece to sit right next to your new console, and this bundle is completely exclusive to Rakuten Books in Japan.

⭐Missed the pre-order window?
Don't panic! Even if initial stock sells out or the pre-order period closes on official retail sites, you can always turn to Japan’s secondary marketplaces. Individual sellers frequently list bonus-packed game bundles and limited release merch across marketplace platforms like Rakuma and JDirectItems Auction. You can still secure these third-party listings directly through ZenMarket.
3. Zelda x Animate Commemorative Merch Fair
Animate, Japan’s premier anime and gaming retail chain, is hosting a limited-run Zelda 40th Anniversary collaboration campaign across select physical stores and the Animate Online Shop. This lineup features exclusive, highly sought-after lifestyle and character goods you won't find anywhere else:
- Acrylic Character Stands: Featuring vibrant standees of fan-favorite characters from Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.
- Lifestyle & Textile Goods: Bring Hyrule into your daily routine with beautifully themed curtains, accessory pouches, makeup cases, sleep masks, and bedroom slippers.
- Commemorative Posters: Eleven distinct poster designs celebrating the franchise's legendary 40-year history.
- Exclusive Purchase Bonuses: Customers who spend over a designated threshold during the event will receive limited-edition commemorative postcards that are completely exclusive to the campaign and not sold separately.
Since Animate Japan does not offer standard overseas shipping for event-exclusive drops, ordering through ZenMarket ensures you don't miss out on these limited releases.

4. The Nintendo Museum-Exclusive "Official Book Vol. 02"
Starting November 5, 2026, the Nintendo Museum in Uji City, Kyoto is releasing the highly anticipated "Nintendo Museum Official Book Vol. 02." This special edition includes a massive feature celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda. Available in both English and Japanese and retails for 1,980 yen, it is an incredible collector's item for hardcore fans.
But there is a major catch: this book is only sold physically at the museum's 2nd-floor Art Gallery, and purchases are strictly limited to just one copy (either English or Japanese) per visitor.
Because of these extreme purchase limits and strict location exclusivity, scouring Japan’s secondary marketplaces is potentially the most practical way for overseas fans to secure a copy without booking a flight to Japan.

Hardcore hardware collectors, take note: Nintendo released the 40th Anniversary Switch 2 in a specific "Japanese-Language System" SKU retailing for 62,980 yen. While it features the exact same gorgeous black, gold, and green Triforce design as the global versions, the software is locked to the Japanese language and Japan-region eShop accounts. It's the ultimate display piece for the serious Zelda fan.
