As 2017 comes to a close, we are reflecting on ZenMarket’s journey up to this point. What began as a modest project in a Japanese apartment, ZenMarket now boasts a diverse team of over 80 people across the globe. This year we moved into a new main office, opened an additional warehouse, launched a new platform for merchants with ZenMarketPlace, started a subscription service for fun Japanese goods with ZenPop, and expanded our team in order to offer our service in two more languages - French and Spanish.
You may have already noticed the new logo on our site. As we move into a new year and look to the future, we wanted to make sure our logo represented the ideas and values that make us ZenMarket. We began by asking “What is Zen?”
Zen is simplicity. We take something complex and multi-faceted, and aim to present it as simply as possible. Building harmony amongst the elements in a complex platform is our constant challenge.
From simplicity comes convenience. ZenMarket’s mission is to make shopping from Japan as easy as possible. Convenience is ordering goods from Japan, and having them shipped to your door, wherever you are in the world. ZenMarket shipped tens of thousands of packages in 2017. We like to think about how many smiles those packages brought to people.
Isn’t it fitting that postage stamps echo the lines of a Zen garden?
ZenMarket is global, employing people all around the world. and shipping from Japan to over 100 different countries. The people who use ZenMarket represent a huge variety of interests, passions, vocations, hobbies, and curiosities. We are proud to help connect people to all that Japan has to offer.
We have updated our logo, inspired by these images and concepts. And as we reflect and build on the past, we are off to the future! Hope to see you there.
