Maklum balasOverall I'm very impress with Zenmarketplace! I have used many proxy services over the years to buy good from Japan, but in my opinion Zenmarketplace is one of the best and could become number one with a few more features and tweaks. Very good service, website very easy to use and easy to navigate, customer service is very friendly and helpful, creating your shipment take just a few minutes, packaging is amazing if not over the top (the only way my parcel could have been damaged is by setting it on fire lol). In terms of fees it is the most reasonable around.
A few suggestions:
1)
The live bidding page is not the best when you are bidding on multiple items at the same time and the auctions are close to end. You have to jump from page to page, it would be better to have one live "realtime" page where you have all the item you bid on listed in descending order by time remaining, with color coded green in the lead, red you're losing, with all the control to increase bids etc on that page and off course a thumbnail / auction to visually recognize each auction and prioritize your bidding.
2)
The shopping service for other website could be improved. When I place multiple orders they are all checked then the price is added for all with 1 button. It would be better to have individual button to pay each order separately in case I change my mind on one of the item but still want to order the other by deleting one item it remove the buy now button and everything has to be recalculated. Also an option to add pictures thumbnails to identify easily each items would be nice and before the calculation is done you should check with the store if the item is actually in stock.
3)
It would be useful for user to have a page on your website where they can see the real breakdown cost for each item. Item cost + local shipping
+ Zenmarket fee + any extra additional fees.
4)
For my first parcel I have used Fedex economy, once I had the weight and dimension of the parcel I compared with other proxy service I'm using and I'm afraid your not very competitive. I think you should try to get more competitive rate. Also on the "how much will it cost page" You should mention that some service cannot be used for parcel over a certain value. I've found this out only when I created my first shipment.
5)
I would suggest a premium fee or membership fee for people using your service a lot, with priority from customer service on messages or even live chat, free extra pictures for items who reach the warehouse, discount on shipment etc... or a reward system based on how much you spend, that kind of thing.
6)
Buying low price items from the same seller on yahoo auction (ie: under 500 yen). I' m not sure but a the moment you charge 1 fee / item which in my opinion make buying low value items very expansive. If I buy 10 items at 300 yen from the same seller in reality I'm spending 3000 yen on items and 3000 yen on fees doubling the cost. I think you should work on a formula where it is more cost effective for buyers.
I hope you will take those suggestions into consideration. I'm willing to discuss them further if you need any help. I have a long experience using proxy services and my annual volume is over 3 millions yen.
