世界的浮世絵師、喜多川歌麿。その作の浮世絵版画『ビードロを吹く女』です。龍香堂と親交の有る版画研究室から買い取りました。歌麿の得意とする美人画を手摺木版で忠実に復刻した作品です。

●喜多川 歌麿：江戸時代に活躍した浮世絵師の代表的な一人。喜多川派の祖である。国際的にもよく知られる浮世絵師として葛飾北斎と並び称される。当初は黄表紙や洒落本などの挿絵を描く。肉筆画・春画にも優れ、ついで役者の大首絵を美人画に採用。寛政期、鳥居清長と並ぶ美人画の第一人者となった。繊細で優麗な描線を特徴とし、さまざまな姿態、表情の女性美を追求した美人画の大家である。

【作品解説】ビードロを吹く女（ポッピンを吹く女）
娘島田に髪を結い、ビードロ（フラスコ形のガラス製玩具）を吹くこの娘はまだ年若いのであろうか、赤い市松模様の着物がやけに印象深い。当作品は艶やかな中に漂う優雅さと清純さ、そして当時の女性としての魅力を大いに感じさせる歌麿の代表的な１枚である。
