1970年代中頃にグランドセイコー（機械式）の幕が一時閉じられ、その後グランドクォーツが販売されます。
しかし、グランドセイコーの復活が望まれ、1988年にグランドセイコーがクォーツとして復活（95GS）します。その後、1993年に現在でも主流の9Fクォーツが誕生します。

今回出品したGSは、9Fクォーツが誕生する前のグランドセイコー復活第一弾になります。
グランドクォーツの時代にはなかった、GSマークが入ったリューズになります。
