How do I place an auction on JDirectItems Auction with ZenMarket?

Here are the different steps :

First, after creating your ZenMarket account, make sure you have enough funds in your account to cover your maximum planned budget for the auction. If you don't have enough funds in your ZenMarket account, add funds.
Then go to the"JDirectItems Auction" on ZenMarket to search for current auctions classified by category. You can also search for products directly by typing a keyword (preferably in Japanese) in the search bar or by using the categories. Use the available filters to refine your selection if necessary.
Once you have found an item you are interested in, bid or proceed to "Buy It Now" for the item.
If you choose to bid on the item, click "Make A Bid" and choose between a normal or deferred type auction (sniper type).
Lastly wait until the auction ends to find out whether you won the bid or not. Regardless you win the bid or not, you will receive a message on your account.

What are the different types of auctions?

When purchasing items on JDirectItems Auction, you have 3 options to choose from:

Automatic Bidding
Sniper Auction
Immediate Purchase

Automatic Bidding is an automated system that places your bid by proxy. The price will automatically increase from the minimum increment as soon as you are outbid, until it reaches the maximum budget you set.
Sniper Auction, also called deferred bid, is a bid placed automatically by our system within 5 to 6 minutes before the end of an auction with automatic extension and 1 to 2 minutes before the end in the case of a classic auction.
Immediate Purchase "Buy Now" allows you to buy the item immediately at the price displayed and decided by the seller, without having to go through the auction system.

What fees do I have to pay?

When you purchase items from JDirectItems Auction, you must pay the price of the item, domestic shipping fees (i.e. from the Japanese seller to ZenMarket's warehouses in Osaka), a 500 yen service fee, and 10% VAT of the item

Note that you will only know how much domestic shipping costs after winning the auction.

How can I reduce the risks involved in online auctions?

Here are some recommendations:

Check seller's rating carefully before bidding
Avoid sellers with many negative reviews.
Do not buy 1 yen or an unreasonably low-price item. The seller will likely charge you a significant extra amount for domestic shipping to compensate.

You are not guaranteed to win your auctions every time.
You cannot cancel your bid.
You cannot refuse to pay after winning an auction.
