It is one month to February 14 and we’re back with more valentine’s gift ideas to express your love! Last week, we curated a list of limited edition plushies that would make perfect Valentine’s Day gifts. Today, we’re excited to introduce some of the best Japanese chocolates that you can buy for the sweetest Valentine’s Day.
1. Morozoff
Morozoff was said to have brought Valentine’s Day to Japan, so it is only fitting that we start off our list with one of Japan’s leading luxury chocolatiers. Morozoff is most famous for their selection of delicious cookies and biscuits, including their delicious wafer-thin feuillages. However, they have such amazing chocolate truffles that you are sure to fall in love with it. Their chocolate truffles come in assortments that include fruits, caramels, nuts and more!
2. Le Chocolat de H
If you are a chocolate connoisseur, you might have heard of Hironobu Tsujiguchi, an award-winning Japanese patisserie. Le Chocolat de H is one of his stores in Tokyo that serves incredible bonbons that just melt in your mouth! The chocolates sold at this store are both delicious and impeccably stylish. Chocolates made here are produced using the finest cocoa beans. We can’t imagine a better Valentine’s gift for your true love.
3. Shiseido Parlour
Shiseido Parlour started off as a cafe in Tokyo Ginza but has since expanded to offer delicious take-home confectionary. These include their famous individually wrapped cheesecakes, chocolates, biscuits and more! What makes these the perfect gifts to express your feelings is the beautiful packaging. You can gift it without wrapping it! We recommend picking up the chocolate ganaches, which are already conveniently in a Valentine’s themed box.
4. Kitkat
We can’t put together a list of chocolates from Japan without including everyone’s favorite chocolate snack! KitKat Japan has released an exclusive new flavour just in time for Valentine’s Day! The Volcanic Sublime KitKats are made from cocoa beans found only on volcanic islands, and will feature three unique flavours. What makes these cocoa beans even more special is that it only accounts for 0.2% of the world’s chocolates! They are limited, so we encourage you to order them here.
There are also tons of other KitKat flavors unique to Japan, including Fuji apple, matcha, and strawberry, but we recommend looking for seasonal products as well. Currently, you can get their 45th-anniversary chocolate tree (35 different varieties in one box!), which would be a perfect gift.
5. White Lover
We’re cheating a bit with this, since White Lover snacks are not really chocolates, but we couldn’t resist! White Lover, or Shiroi Koibito (白い恋人), is a famous confectionary from Hokkaido. It consists of creamy milk or white chocolate sandwiched between a type of biscuit known as langue de chat. While typically a souvenir, we think it would make a great Valentine’s gift for someone who appreciates a good biscuit!
